PetBacker Moments is our social networking feature that lets you share your pet's funny moments on PetBacker with the community as well as like and comment on those posted by other users. Its a great way to interact with other pet lovers about your pets and theirs. Posting a moment is fun and easy, simply follow the following steps to post your first moment.

1) Download the app if you do not have it yet. You can download it here.

2) Sign in and go to the moments tab. You will find it in the middle of the bottom navigation bar.

 

 

3) Tap on the "+" icon in the moment tab 

 

 

4) Add one or more images of your pet and a description of what you are posting and tap "Add moment" below.  

 

 

 

5) That's it. You have posted your first moment. You can proceed to post more photos or browse moments by other pet lovers.

It could be because of the settings that are done on your device. You can change the below settings of your device in order to receive notifications.


Method 1


Please go the phone's settings, look for 'Battery', click on 'High Background Power Consumption' and then enable 'PetBacker' app to receive the notifications.



OR


Method 2


Step 1:

Enable "Auto-Start" for PetBacker

Step 2:

Go to i manager --> App Manager --> Autostart Manager --> Enable PetBacker App

or

Settings --> More Settings --> Applications --> Autostart --> Enable for "PetBacker"


Step 3:

Click on App Manager


Step 4:

Click on Auto Start Manager


Step 5:

Enable PetBacker


Step 6:

After following the above steps come back to :-

App Manager --> Tap on Uninstallation / Installed App --> PetBacker --> Enable Show Notification

Settings --> More Settings --> Application --> PetBacker --> Enable Notification

Step 1: Go to Settings -> Advanced settings -> Battery manager -> Protected apps, then find the app you want to see notifications from (PetBacker app), and protect it. This is "whitelisting" the app so Huawei's overeager software doesn't shut it down for no reason.


Step 2: Go to Settings -> Apps -> advanced -> Ignore battery optimizations, then find the app (PetBacker) and ignore it. Don't be tricked by the misleading wording, "ignoring" the app actually means to let it run, because you're telling the battery optimization function to "ignore" that app.


Step 3: Go to Settings -> Notification panel & status bar -> Notification centre, then find the app (PetBacker), then activate "allow notifications" and also "priority display". You have to activate the priority part too to make sure you get notifications.


Step 4: Go to Settings -> Battery -> App Launch, then find the app (PetBacker), then turn off "Manage automatically" by tapping on the switch to the right of PetBacker .In the pop up menu, enable Auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background options, tap on OK.


Step 5: Restart your phone


Note: If you have Android 8 version of the OS you also need to allow unlimited access to data in the section: Settings -> Apps -> special access -> unlimited data access -> choose PetBacker application and allow it

Just follow the four steps and you'll soon be getting notifications as soon as your messages arrive.


Step 1:

Go to settings --> advanced settings --> battery manager --> protected apps, then find the PetBacker app, and "protect" it. This is essentially "whitelisting" the app, aka telling Oppo, "hey, this app is useful, please don't kill it."

Step 2:

Go to settings --> apps --> advanced --> ignore battery optimizations, then find the PetBacker app and ignore it. Don't be tricked by the misleading wording, "ignoring" the app actually means allowing it to run, because you're telling the battery optimization function to "ignore" that app.

Step 3:

Open the app from which you want to receive notifications, hit the square (aka 'app overview') button on the navigation bar, then pull down on that app to lock it into place. From here on out, even if you're "clearing all apps," the ones you've locked will remain.


You have to complete all four steps to ensure you get full notifications from the PetBacker app.

PetBacker requires that you follow your local laws and regulations regarding licensing and other requirements. Requirements vary by location, so check with your local Animal Control to learn about the regulations where you live.

Often, licensing regulations apply only to facilities that handle a high volume of dogs. If you sit for one or two dogs at a time, you may not need a license. Nevertheless, it’s a good idea to check your local regulations.

PetBacker will not be held responsible for any legal action taken against you should you fail to adhere to your local laws and regulations regarding licensing and other requirements.

How much are the service fees?

Starting out as a pet sitter and offering your services on PetBacker is free, and you can set your own rates. When you get a reservation, a 15-25% service fee is deducted from the total booking amount.

PetBacker service fees are reduced in levels based on the number of jobs you have completed. For more information do refer to the PetBacker incentive program for the benefits you will receive.

New Backers service fees start at 25% due to management risk and cost of insurance. Some experienced Backers who continuosly skip the platform still have a high rate because it costs us more to manage them to ensure a secure and happy community.

Any pet sitter/host suspected of soliciting payment outside of PetBacker will be suspended without notice.
Example:
1. Requesting customers to revise a booking from many days/visits/walks to one
2. Promoting other platforms
3. Requesting customers contact you outside by visiting Facebook, Google search, Map or other social media
4. Exchange of contacts or meet up before booking but not closing the deal (Penalty of 40% of the Fees to remove your account restriction)
5. Giving customers an unreasonable low rate or discount as a deposit (e.g. USD$1 for a Booking to get contact or to deal outside)
6. Cancelling or getting cancelled for a hired booking without good reason
7. Subsequent bookings or extensions not made via the platform
8. Misleading customers that PetBacker charges fees without informing them the importance of Pet Insurance that PetBacker includes in the hope they will deal with you outside
9. Requesting for Cash payment outside the platform
10. Requesting customers to pay Hidden fees outside the platform

To restore your service fees from:
- First time suspected mistake, 30% to 20%, complete 5 new bookings
- Second time suspected mistake, 30% to 20%, complete 10 new bookings.

For the third suspected mistake onwards, you will not receive anymore broadcast job requests, only normal Direct job requests at 35% of the fees.

When a user makes a request for a pet service around you that matches the services you offer, a notification will be sent to the app and your email. A user can also request for your services directly from browsing the pet service provider directory in the app and the web.

If you feel the pet service requested is something you are interested in, simply tap on "I am interested" and you will be able to communicate with the user via the messaging feature. 

When the user chooses to hire you, a notification of being hired will be sent to the app and your email. If another pet service provider is hired, your response will automatically be closed, vice versa, when you are hired all other responses from other pet service provider is automatically closed.

The best way to decide on a price is by doing a research on what other pet service providers are charging for the same service in your area, then decide on the price that you feel comfortable with. 

Prices vary depend on the services provided, the type of pet, the compound in which you are hosting the pet, and your experience. You can always amend your prices when discussing with the user with the "Edit Quote" feature. This might included extra services or requirements requested by the user.

*Insurance will only be included when the quoted booking amount is above the minimum amount.

What happens if the pet I am taking care of dies or gets lost

If the customer pet is missing, it is your responsibility to immediately make a search around the area. We will…

If the customer pet is missing, it is your responsibility to immediately make a search around the area. We will advise what needs to be done and where to search. We will also help to provide up to USD$100 for a Facebook lost pet advertisement.

It is also the responsibility of the pet sitter to make a report to us within 24 hours and also to make a report to the police for suspecting theft. In the event the pet is not recovered, It is the pet sitter's responsibility to discuss with parents for their losses and any compensation. PetBacker cannot do anything as it is out of our control when the pet is with the pet sitters.

Please be reminded that pet parents may file a law suit against the pet sitter. In the event the pet is dead, which is an unlikely event, it will be the responsibility of the pet sitter and pet parents to send the pet for an autopsy to analyse if the cause is a result of a previous sickness, or a sickness or accident during the care of the pet sitter.

As such, it is important for you to send the pet to a vet if you suspect there is an issue before it is too late. Pet parents will need to pay for the 1st USD$350 of the fees while PetBacker's insurance will help settle the next USD$1500 vets fee.

PetBacker may withhold or delay any outstanding payouts to the sitter at its discretion pending investigations regarding the lost pet or until the pet is found. If the pet cannot be found, all payment for the related job will be refunded to the pet owner.

Pet sitters on PetBacker are pet lovers thus when a pet is boarded in their home the pet is not left in a cage and sometime even spend the night with the sitter in their own bed. This also means that most of them are also ill equipped to handle an aggressive pet. Always inform the pet sitter if your pet has the potential to be aggressive and if they can handle it. Please do note that should the pet sitter not be informed with agreement before the job starts and your pet turns unacceptably aggressive, the pet sitter may have no choice but to handover the pet to a shelter or caged pet hotel. Any fees that are incurred due to this situation will be the responsibility of the pet owner.

For Boarding:

Drop-off/Check-in times: after 12.01pm

Pick-up/Check-out times: before 11.59am

Be considerate to the Pet Host who might have other jobs to do like dog walking, they might require extra fees to cover their time. You will be charged a fee by Pet Host if you choose to pick-up your pet after 11.59am. We however think a Pet Host should not over charge any Owner for no more than a full night fee for less than 12-hours over time period. They are however pet hosts who are flexible and would not charge you any extra fees. Please discuss with them before making your final payment.
Only Extend and re-Book the Stay on PetBacker to ensure full insurance coverage. For Boarding, our Insurance will only cover your Pet from 12.01pm to 11.59am of the following day if it is not extended on PetBacker.

For Daycare:

Drop-offs and pick-ups for day-care can be made within an 8 hour timeframe. Any pets which are not picked up within this period (8 hours) may be incur additional fees from the pet sitter.
Only Extend and re-Book the Stay on PetBacker to ensure full insurance coverage. For day-care, our Insurance will only cover your Pet for the 8 hours period.

*Booking on PetBacker again will also entitle you to discount vouchers for every 5th stay.
